The Ducks have confirmed that right wing Troy Bodie was claimed off waivers by the Carolina Hurricanes.
Bodie was placed on waivers by the Ducks as of 9 a.m. Pacific on Monday morning, giving all 29 other NHL teams a chance to claim him. (Priority is based on current standings and given to the teams with the lowest percentage of possible standings points.)
The 25-year-old Bodie had one point (an assist) in nine games with the Ducks this season, but hadn't been in the lineup since October 29 vs. New Jersey.
Bodie was originally signed by the Ducks in July of 2008 and had five goals and three assists in 57 career games with Anaheim.
