15th Annual Fedorin Cup Charity Game to be Held August 25

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
The 15th annual Fedorin Cup will take place on Saturday, Aug. 25 at THE RINKS – Anaheim ICE presented by Honda. The charity hockey game and VIP Casino Night dinner will benefit the Athletic Sports Fund of America (ASFA) as well as the NHL’s Hockey Fights Cancer initiative. A stellar lineup of current and former Anaheim Ducks will appear in the 2012 Fedorin Cup, including all-time leading scorer Teemu Selanne, defenseman Luca Sbisa, 2007 Stanley Cup champion Todd Marchant, Jason Marshall, George Parros, Sean Pronger, Craig Johnson, JF Jomphe and many more.

The Fedorin Cup was founded in 1998 by THE RINKS hockey manager Rick Hutchinson in honor of Eric Fedorin, a local hockey player who battled brain cancer. The exhibition hockey game will begin at 4 p.m. (warm-ups at 3:45) in a ‘Team Canada’ vs. ‘Team USA’ format. Festivities also include a silent auction, a postgame VIP party at Anaheim ICE on the Plaza and casino-style gaming. Fans can also help to fundraise by purchasing opportunity drawing tickets, with a free weekend rental of a Harley Davidson motorcycle or a Jaguar sports car serving as the top prizes.

A variety of VIP packages for the 2012 Fedorin Cup and Casino Night celebration are available for purchase through www.ASFAmerica.com. In addition, fans can also bid for an amazing opportunity to play in the hockey game alongside NHL greats in an online auction. Admission to the Fedorin Cup is $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 11-17 (10-and-under are free).

With THE RINKS presented by Honda development program launch in February 2009, the Ducks now operate six local skating facilities: three ice rinks and three inline facilities. Yorba Linda ICE was added in July 2012, joining locations in Anaheim (THE RINKS - Anaheim ICE), as well as Westminster (THE RINKS – Westminster ICE). Inline facilities include Corona (THE RINKS - Corona Inline), Huntington Beach (THE RINKS - Huntington Beach Inline) and Irvine (THE RINKS – Irvine Inline). In addition to youth and adult hockey programs, Anaheim ICE and Westminster ICE offer figure skating, a learn-to-skate program, broomball, curling and public skating.
