by Staff Writer / New Jersey Devils
The Devils announced Friday that center Dainius Zubrus was placed on injured reserve, and will miss the next four to six weeks. Forward Ilkka Pikkarainen (ill) was also placed on IR, retroactive to Nov. 16.

Forward Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond was activated from injured reserve one day after he was placed on IR retroactive to Nov. 4.

Zubrus, 31, has two game-winning goals and five assists in 20 contests this season. The 6-5, 225-lb. pivot signed with New Jersey in 2007 and had his best season as a Devil in 2008-09, when he notched 15 goals and 25 assists for 40 points.

Pikkarainen, 28, was drafted with New Jersey's 9th choice, 218th overall, in the 2002 Entry Draft, and made his NHL debut this season. The native of Sonkajarvi, Finland, has one assist in 13 games this season.

Zubrus and Pikkarainen join forwards Rob Niedermayer (upper body) and Jay Pandolfo (shoulder), and defensemen Paul Martin (forearm) and Johnny Oduya (lower body) on injured reserve.

New Jersey (14-5-1) has lost 76 man-games to injury.
