The Devils have recalled forwards Fabian Zetterlund and A.J. Greer from Utica of the American Hockey League.
Zetterlund, 22, played three games for New Jersey in late November. He's the Comets' leader in goals (24) and points (52) on the season. The 5-foot-11, 220-pound Swede also has eight power-play goals. It's been a career year for Zetterlund, New Jersey's third-round pick (63rd overall) in 2017, who is in his third season of AHL hockey.
Greer, 25, has played five games for New Jersey this season, most recently a three-game stretch from March 23-27. He ranks second with the Comets in goals (tied-22) and points (50). Greer has played in 43 career NHL games for Colorado and New Jersey, totaling one goal and six points. He's spent the majority of the past six years in the AHL
The Devils lost center Jack Hughes for the remainder of the season to a
low grade MCL sprain in his left knee
. New Jersey also lost forwards Nathan Bastian, Yegor Sharangovich and Jimmy Vesey. The latter three are questionable for Thursday's game against Montreal.
