The Devils lost 2-1 to Ottawa tonight at Prudential Center despite a power play goal by Travis Zajac. Here's what we learned:

1) The Devils had just one opportunity on the man advantage due to a delay-of-game penalty and Zajac only needed 42 seconds to make it count. When the Devils are able to get low and create havoc in the slot, they find themselves more successful than not.

2) Pavel Zacha was hit in the second period and did not return to the game. Head coach John Hynes said he wasn't ready to come back in the game and will be re-evaluated tomorrow. Expect to hear more on Zacha's status Thursday.

3) The Devils sent 68 shots in Craig Anderson's direction with 30 hitting the target, 22 blocked and 16 going wide. More shots on net equals more chances to score. Expect the Devils to keep this trend going.

The Devils have a complete day off tomorrow followed by two days of practice before hosting the Rangers on Saturday.
