The Devils have recalled forward Pavel Zacha
from Albany (AHL), the club announced today.
Zacha, 19, was reassigned to Albany (AHL) from Sarnia (OHL), where he just completed his second campaign with the Sting. Last year's sixth overall pick at the NHL Draft, Zacha posted 64 points (28g-36a) in 51 games with Sarnia this season, a 30-point increase from 2014-15 (16g-18a, 37 games).
He recorded points in all seven games of the Sting's opening-round playoff loss to Sault Ste. Marie, totaling seven goals and six assists. He registered three multi-point outings in the series, including a four-point (1g-3a) showing in Game 3 and a three-point (2g-1a) effort in Game 6.
Zacha is expected to participate in the Devils' morning skate at Prudential Center on Saturday, and could make his NHL debut in the regular-season finale against Toronto. Cory Schneider will start.
The Devils made three other roster moves, assigning forwards Blake Pietila and Mike Sislo, and defenseman Vojtech Mozik to Albany (AHL).
