Hugh Weber

Following nine years of unprecedented growth which included building a global portfolio with a philosophy of developing people leaders in a culture committed to community, innovation, and achievement, HBSE President Hugh Weber announced today that he will step away from the organization this summer. He was appointed to the role of President, Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, on September 2019, having previously served as President of the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center since the franchise and arena were acquired in August 2013.
"I am honored and humbled that Josh Harris and David Blitzer entrusted me to help build and lead their sports and entertainment business nine years ago." Weber said. "Playing a role in the growth of our teams, venues, community partners and most importantly, the people, who comprise HBSE, has brought me great pride. HBSE is in the hands of some of the industry's best and brightest, and it's time for me to transition on to my next challenge."
"I want to thank Josh and David for their friendship and confidence in our leadership team and their accomplishments, while treating me and my family as part of their families throughout my time here. While we achieved much, there are even greater goals and possibilities with incredible people in place to continue to grow. I am grateful for the relationships I have gained during my time here- those who comprise our teams, partners, fans and the dedicated people in our communities. I understand the unique power of sports and entertainment, and it was a privilege to engage our teams, venues, and communities as one. I look forward to my next role with excitement and enthusiasm, and I know the experience and learnings I gained from my time at HBSE will serve me well in the future."

"Hugh has represented HBSE as one of the sports industry's most respected and innovative executives, and he had an immediate and invigorating impact on the overall culture of our organization," said HBSE Co-Founder Josh Harris. "His focus on both the business and community will have a long-lasting, positive effect on Newark, Philadelphia, Camden and the surrounding areas that HBSE serves. Whatever project he decides to tackle next, we all know that he will do so with his trademark enthusiasm and driving spirit on the way to future success."
"The entire organization is indebted to Hugh for his tremendous influence across all facets of our business," said HBSE Co-Founder David Blitzer. "His forward-thinking vision, astute judgment, engaging personality and track record in building and developing incredible leaders has left an indelible mark on our employees, partners, fans and community. We thank him for that leadership, and offer our full support on his next professional endeavor."
