EDMONTON - Having nearly completed his sophomore season in the NHL, Ty Smith had not played a game in the city closest to his hometown of Lloydminster, Alberta until tomorrow when he will suit up for the Devils against the Oilers.
"It's pretty cool. Edmonton's the place I'd come to watch games when I was a kid. Obviously not this rink but it's cool to be back here and see the team I grew up watching," said Smith. "You know how passionate the hockey community is in Canada and especially in Edmonton. They have a great fan base and I'll have family and friends at the game. It'll be cool to play in front of them and hopefully get a win."
