Training Camp Opens

The Devils opened their 25th training camp in New Jersey this morning at Richard J. Codey Arena at South Mountain in West Orange, NJ.

Sixty-five players have been invited, including five goaltenders, 23 defensemen, and 37 forwards. Among the new faces in camp are: goaltender Jordan Parise (free agent); defensemen Matthew Corrente (’06 draft), Andy Greene (free agent), Tomas Harant (free agent), Scott Lachance (pro tryout), Olivier Magnan (’06 draft), Olli Malmivaara (free agent), Mike Mottau (free agent), Johnny Oduya (free agent), and Kirill Tulupov (’06 draft); and forwards Kyell Henegan (’06 draft), Dan LaCouture (free agent), Benoit Mondou (free agent), Justin Papineau (free agent), and Rod Pelley (free agent).

The Devils alphabetical depth chart is set as follows:

Goaltenders (5): Martin Brodeur, Scott Clemmensen, Frank Doyle, Gregg Naumenko, and Jordan Parise.

The Devils will open their seven-game/14-day pre-season schedule this Sunday afternoon, September 17 vs. Boston at Lowell, MA at 1:00 PM. The game marks the first-ever NHL contest at Lowell’s Tsongas Arena.
