Three first period goals, including two in the first two minutes, help the LA Kings defeat the Devils, 3-1, tonight with the lone goal coming from Kyle Quincey. Here's what we learned:
1) Cory Schneider had a rough go in the first, allowing the seeing-eye power play goal and two in close on 12 shots, and was replaced by Keith Kinkaid after the 1st intermission. Kinkaid saved all 13 shots he faced.

2) When you're trying to dig out of an early hole, giving the puck away makes it even tougher. The Devils had 13 of them plus five taken away. In comparison, LA had one and two respectively.
3) Miles Wood continues to find offensive opportunities with five shots tonight to lead the team and 16+ minutes on the ice, including significant time on the power play. He also earned an assist on Quincey's goal.
The Devils will practice tomorrow before hosting the Washington Capitals on Thursday before the All-Star Break this weekend.
