Bratt 3Things GoalsWEB

Forward Jesper Bratt scored plenty of goals this season - 26 in fact - however, not all goals are created equal. So we went to the books and looked at some of Bratt's top-ranked goals from the 2021-22 season and broke them down.
Here's another look at three of the goals that helped the Devils leading scorer achieve his best NHL season to date presented by Geico.

1. No. 20 - Devils at Edmonton - March 19, 2022

This goal was a thing of beauty, The Devils are battling in their zone against the Oilers to try to regain possession. Jonas Siegenthaler shoots a quick pass to Hamilton who gets it up to Hischier. The Devils captain sees Bratt can get a step on the defense and fires it to the Devils leading scorer. From there it's off to the races for Bratt who uses his speed to create a breakaway, looks like he's going one way and then sneaks it in on the left side of the goal. This goal tied the game at 1-1 in the opening five minutes of the game on the road against the Oilers.

2. Breakaway Beauty - Devils at Chicago - February 25, 2022

Another breakaway goal but this one Bratt fires in five-hole to cut a Blackhawks lead to one after the home team scored three in the middle frame. This one happens similarly to the first goal; however, this time it's one pass to Bratt before he races into the zone from the blue line. Damon Severson fires one far, finds Bratt and then just like that, the Devils leading scorer added his 17th of the year. It wasn't Bratt's only goal of the night, in fact the forward cut the Blackhawks lead to one once again in the third period.

3. Penalty Shot at Pittsburgh - October 30, 2021

In the Devils first road game of the 2021-22 season, Bratt's penalty shot secured a win over the Penguins. To make it even sweeter, it was Penguins star Sidney Crosby's season debut. Bratt started wide, looked like he was going left, dragged it right and beat Tristan Jarry who already fell and lost position. The goal gave the Devils a 3-2 lead in the final three minutes of the game.
A goal by Andreas Johnsson in the final minute of the game secured the win and had New Jersey returning home with a 4-2 win off of a strong Penguins team.
