LOS ANGELES- Make that six points in three games for the New Jersey Devils on the road. Continuing a six-game road trip with a stop in Los Angeles, the Devils shut out the Kings 3-0 on Saturday. The Devils scored two goals in the first period, and Keith Kinkaid recorded a shutout as the Devils earn their 37th victory of the season.

Here are 10 takeaways from the game:
1. Keith Kinkaid made his third consecutive start and had to make 36 saves against the Kings. The game also marked the 100th in his NHL career. The shutout was the fourth of his career and second against the LA Kings.
2. Coach John Hynes switched up his lineup against the L.A. Kings. Patrick Maroon sat out the game with a lower body injury, while Jesper Bratt drew back in. To start the game, the lineup against the Kings looked as follows:

3. Michael Grabner scored his second goal as a New Jersey Devil, and in the fashion which he is known for. Grabner grabbed a loose puck at the opposing blueline on the penalty kill, and used his speed to go in alone on LA Kings netminder Jonathan Quick. The goal was his 27th of the season at 8:29 of the first period and scored unassisted.

4. Moments later, Nico Hischier would put the Devils up 2-0 at 13:27 of the first period. Hischier scored his 16th of the season on a snap shot from a Damon Severson stretch pass. Brian Gibbons also picked up an assist on the play.

5. After one period of play the Devils had a 2-0 lead with just four shots on net.
6. The Devils played with fire against the Kings taking six penalties, including four in the first period alone. The team managed to get by with strong penalty killing, including a shorthanded goal by Grabner. The Devils finished the afternoon 6 for 6 on the penalty kill.
7. The new line of Grabner, Hischier and Gibbons had the Luck of the Irish on their side. The new combination combined for nine of the Devils 28 shots on net, with both Grabner and Hischier scoring goals.
8. After holding the LA Kings to just 17 shots in their first meeting this season, the Devils gave up 19 to the Kings in the first period alone. Defensive play was more compact in the second where New Jersey relinquished just eight to Los Angeles while putting up 14 of their own.
9. Miles Wood gave the Devils a 3-0 lead at 6:06 of the third period when he scored his 17th goal of the season on a two-on-one opportunity. Wood used Drew Stafford as a decoy, opting to shoot instead of pass to surprise Quick with a snapshot. Brian Boyle picked up the assist on the play.

10. The Devils are 3-0-0 on their current six-game road trip. The Devils have a quick turnover with a stop in Anaheim on Sunday night, followed by stops in San Jose and Pittsburgh before returning home to Prudential Center.
