Six #DevilsFacts for tonight's game vs. Columbus

by Staff Writer / New Jersey Devils

Here are six Devils Facts for tonight's meeting with the Blue Jackets:

1. The Devils are coming off of Thursday’s 2-1 victory over Winnipeg, which ended an NHL-record 0-for-18 streak of shootout losses dating back to March 15, 2013. It was their first win in the tiebreaker since March 10, 2013, also against Winnipeg.

2. Cory Schneider is 7-2-1, with a 2.05 GAA & .929 save percentage in 10 career appearances against Columbus. Schneider will match a career high tonight with his 11th straight start (March 9-April 8, 2013, 9-2-0, 1.29 goals-against average, .954 save percentage, four shutouts).

3. Injured forwards Mike Cammalleri (jaw), Marty Havlat (lower body) and Jordin Tootoo (foot) did not practice yesterday. Head coach Peter DeBoer said it was “doubtful” that any of them would be available tonight.

4. Columbus dropped its fourth in a row with last night’s 4-1 loss to Toronto. The Blue Jackets have eight regulars out, including starting goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, top scoring defenseman James Wisniewski, and six forwards, three of them centers. Last night, Nick Foligno returned after missing one game with a stiff neck.

5. Ryan Johansen leads the Blue Jackets with 13 points (5g-8a) and has points in each of the team's 10 games this season.

6. The Devils are 5-0-2 at home and 9-4-3 all-time vs. Columbus.
