There were two missing bodies at practice on Friday for the New Jersey Devils. Cory Schneider and Taylor Hall were the only two players not to attend the 45-minute session.

Hall took a maintenance day from practice, while Schneider, who has been sick over the last few days, made a brief appearance at the end of the practice session to test out his legs.
The Devils were not without two goaltenders during their practice. The Devils were quick to find a member of the New Jersey Devils Premium Service department, calling upon premium service coordinator Casey Ferris, who had his goalie equipment in his car, to serve as Friday's backup emergency goaltender at practice.

Schneider will not be in the lineup when the Devils visit the Flyers on Saturday afternoon, still not quite ready to play. Though Schneider did make the trip, the club has recalled goalie Ken Appleby from Binghamton on an emergency basis to back up Keith Kinkaid against Philadelphia.

Kinkaid has earned his third straight start after winning his last two with Schneider out sick.
"I just want to pick up where we left off," Kinkaid said. "I think we need to keep building on our game and play like the past two efforts."
With Hall missing from practice, Blake Coleman took his spot on the top line during line drills.
Coach John Hynes practiced with the following lines:
Blake Coleman-Nico Hischier-Jesper Bratt
Marcus Johansson-Travis Zajac-Drew Stafford
Miles Wood-Pavel Zacha-Kyle Palmieri
Brian Gibbons-Brian Boyle-Stefan Noesen
Andy Greene-Sami Vatanen
John Moore-Damon Severson
Will Butcher-Ben Lovejoy
Keith Kinkaid
As for the lineup against the Flyers, that is still yet to be decided.
"Keith will be in net, but I've got some decision injury-wise with the rest of the guys," Hynes said. "There's a couple of question marks."
Steven Santini, Blake Coleman and Jimmy Hayes all participated in extra work after practice had wrapped up.
