Schneider leaves game early in Dallas

by Staff Writer / New Jersey Devils

Devils goalie Cory Schneider left the game against the Dallas Stars on Friday when he was injured early in the third period.

Schneider left 2:05 into the period after stretching to make a save on Jason Spezza during a Stars power play. Schneider changed direction, extending his right leg toward the post to stop the shot, then needed assistance to leave the ice.

He was replaced by Keith Kinkaid after making 15 saves with the Devils trailing 3-1.

Schneider is 26-22-6 with a 2.14 goal-against average (third in the NHL) and .924 save percentage (tied for seventh) this season. He had lost three in a row and six of seven.
