The Devils will be represented by Tuomo Ruutu and Jacob Josefson when the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship opens Friday in the Czech Republic.

Ruutu and Team Finland began preliminary round play against the U.S. on Friday morning. Stefan Matteau, who was named to the U.S. roster, will miss the tournament after suffering an injury in Team USA’s exhibition meeting with Austria on Tuesday.

Josefson and Sweden were set to face former Devil Jaromir Jagr and the host Czechs on Friday afternoon.

Devils prospect Artur Gavrus has been added to Team Belarus, which begins play Saturday against Slovenia.

Ruutu’s making his fifth appearance at the world championships, and first since winning gold with the Finns in 2011, when he posted six goals in nine games. Josefson is making his worlds debut with his first international appearance since a bronze-medal finish at the 2010 world juniors.
