After 1,259 games with the Devils, 688 of which were wins, Martin Brodeur retired in 2015 after 21 years in New Jersey and one season with the St. Louis Blues. On Tuesday, February 9, 2016, Brodeur returned to Prudential Center to have his jersey raised to the rafters. The Devils retired number 30 and honored Brodeur with a pregame ceremony in front of the fans who cheered him on throughout his career.

Brodeur's thoughts on the night the Devils retired his jersey:

"It's the ultimate achievement for a player to get his number retired. Seeing all of the fans and feeling the energy in the building gave me goosebumps I'll never forget that night."
