Remembering the sacrifice of our veterans

by Staff Writer / New Jersey Devils
Assistant coach John MacLean – In honor of our veterans, the Devils' coaching staff wore red poppies on their lapels during Saturday's game in Detroit and Sunday's game against Edmonton.

The poppy, placed on the left lapel in order to be closer to the heart, is a symbolic token taken from Canadian physician and Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae's World War I poem In Flanders Field.

This Veterans Day, the Devils salute the sacrifices of all the men and women who have served our Armed Forces.
