#RELENTLESS Fan of the Game: Lindsie Shipley

by Gordy Stillman / New Jersey Devils
Nurse Lindsie Shipley says she was so nervous during Game Six of the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals, that she hid in the bathroom only to rush back to her seat and celebrate when Adam Henrique scored the game-winning goal to send the Devils to the Stanley Cup Finals. Shipley has a Henrique jersey that the forward signed on his birthday at an event in her hometown.

NAME: Lindsie Shipley

AGE: 28

I HAVE BEEN A SEASON TICKET MEMBER FOR: We’ve been full-season members for nine years, and were partial season ticket members since 1998.

I HAVE BEEN A DEVILS FAN SINCE: 2007 when we came to a meet and greet event, where I thought Zach Parise was really cute. Little did I know he’d break my heart.

BEFORE EVERY DEVILS GAME, I MAKE SURE: We always park in the same spot in the same lot. The attendant holds a spot for us on every game day. We also always go to Starbucks. It became a ritual after we went during the playoffs, and the team kept winning whenever we’d stop there.

YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW THAT: During the Eastern Conference Finals in 2012, I was so nervous that I hid in the bathroom. As soon as Adam Henrique scored the goal, I rushed back to my seat, knocking over Rangers fans, to join the celebration.

IF I COULD ASK HIM ONE THING: Can I have your phone number?

MY FAVORITE MARTY MOMENT IS: I’m still upset that he played for and retired with the Blues, but when he broke the NHL career wins record was a special memory. It was against the Blackhawks, which are my “Western Conference team.”

MY FAVORITE PIECE OF DEVILS MEMORABILIA IS: My signed Adam Henrique jersey. We went to a signing event in our town and it happened to be his birthday. He and Dainius Zubrus were there, and he was kind enough to sign my jersey.

MY FAVORITE PART OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON: I always watch Home Alone. It’s something that I do every year.

I AM #RELENTLESS BECAUSE: I never lose faith in the Devils.
