#RELENTLESS Fan of the Game: Jonathan Martin

by Gordy Stillman / New Jersey Devils
Season Ticket Member Jonathan Martin became a fan during the 1998-99 season when a friend put the game on TV as they worked on a project for school. Since then, the 30 year old has seen many great memories on the ice, and fondly remembers when Martin Brodeur broke the NHL regular season wins record.

NAME: Jonathan Martin

AGE: 30

SECTION: 2

HOMETOWN: Holmdel

CAREER: I work in Finance.

I HAVE BEEN A SEASON TICKET MEMBER FOR: Eight years.

I HAVE BEEN A DEVILS FAN SINCE: The 1998-99 season. My friend, Jimmy Corrigan, got me into the team. We were doing a school project in my basement and he put the game on., I started watching and ever since then I was hooked.

BEFORE EVERY DEVILS GAME, I MAKE SURE: I stop by a local bar and hang out for a little while.

YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW THAT: I love fishing.

MY FAVORITE CURRENT PLAYER IS: Adam Henrique. He’s a gamer. He comes out every game and is looking to score points every time. He’s not giving up.

IF I COULD ASK HIM ONE THING: What are your hobbies, outside of hockey?.

MY FAVORITE MARTY MOMENT IS: When he was cutting down the net after breaking the 552 wins record. I remember he was having some trouble. He wanted to skate around the ice, and he couldn’t cut it out quick enough. He started cutting it and came back after skating around the ice.

MY FAVORITE PIECE OF DEVILS MEMORABILIA IS: I have a piece of the net from the record-breaking game. The team sent pieces to all of the season ticket members.

I AM #RELENTLESS BECAUSE: I’m here through thick and thin.
