#RELENTLESS Fan of the Game: Gregg Aarons

by Staff Writer / New Jersey Devils
Gregg Aarons is the final #Relentless Fan of the Game, receiving the honor at the New Jersey Devils' 2015-16 season finale. Aarons' favorite piece of memorabilia is a jacket he received from the McMullen family when the Devils won the 1995 Stanley Cup.

NAME: Gregg Aarons

AGE: 34

SECTION: 19

HOMETOWN: I grew up in Old Tappan, but now live in Hoboken.

CAREER: I’m a Vice President of Sales for an Office Furniture company

TWITTER HANDLE: @devils201

I HAVE BEEN A SEASON TICKET MEMBER FOR: 19 years with my family. I was seven years old when we started attending games, and we’ve been season ticket members for most of the time since.

I HAVE BEEN A DEVILS FAN SINCE: Back in 1988, when the Devils first made the playoffs. We had gotten to know John MacLean a little bit, and seeing him score the goal to send the team to the postseason had me hooked.

BEFORE EVERY DEVILS GAME, I MAKE SURE: I have dinner at the restaurant.

YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW THAT: I used to be a competitive tennis player.

MY FAVORITE CURRENT PLAYER IS: Cory Schneider. He’s a great goalie and a great guy. I met him back when he lived across from my place in Hoboken.

IF I COULD ASK HIM ONE THING: What are your pre-game rituals?

MY FAVORITE MARTY MOMENT IS: When he helped the Devils win the 1995 Stanley Cup. Sweeping Detroit, when everyone thought we were underdogs, was very exciting.

MY FAVORITE PIECE OF DEVILS MEMORABILIA IS: After the team won the Cup in ‘95, the McMullen family gave me a leather Devils Stanley Cup jacket. I had been ill with autoimmune issues, and as family friends they gave me the jacket. I still have it today.

I AM #RELENTLESS BECAUSE: I never give up.
