NAME: Dan McGannon
SECTION: I’m a Flex Member. I usually sit in Sections 1 or 2, but tonight I’m in Section 5, with the hopes of getting on TV.
HOMETOWN: I’m originally from Trumbull, CT., but came tonight from New Rochelle, NY.
CAREER: I am a General Manager at a restaurant.
TWITTER HANDLE: @Dan_McG14
I HAVE BEEN A SEASON TICKET MEMBER FOR: Two seasons.
I HAVE BEEN A DEVILS FAN SINCE: 1994-95. If I had started watching a year early, I’d probably be a Rangers fan. The Devils won the Stanley Cup and I said “Cool, this will work for me.” My older sister is a Ranger fan and my older brother is a Devils fan. I have five siblings, and we’re almost all Devils fans.
BEFORE EVERY DEVILS GAME, I MAKE SURE: I usually wear my Martin Brodeur jersey to every game.
ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY, I MAKE SURE: I dye my beard the colors of the Irish Flag, and for the last few years I’ve worn a leprechaun outfit.
YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW THAT: In high school, I was in musical theater. I was Tony in “West Side Story.”
MY FAVORITE CURRENT PLAYER IS: Andy Greene. He is a phenomenal player, he plays a lot of minutes, and he really is a captain back there. I was a big Scott Stevens fan and I feel that he’s really taken the reins from what Stevens built here, and has really taken that and emphasized that defensive strategy.
IF I COULD ASK HIM ONE THING: What are your St. Patrick’s Day rituals?
MY FAVORITE MARTY MOMENT IS: When he broke the wins record, also on St. Patrick’s Day, in 2009. That’s definitely my best memory of him.
MY FAVORITE PIECE OF DEVILS MEMORABILIA IS: I have a picture of Brodeur making a save. I don’t know what game it was or what year it was, but he was on his side, making an impressive glove save. I got it as a Christmas gift from my mother when I was in high school. It’s one of the few pieces of Devils memorabilia that I have.
MY FAVORITE PART OF ST. PATRICK’S DAY: All of St. Patrick’s Day. I like the festivities and the fact that everybody wants to be Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.
I AM #RELENTLESS BECAUSE: I strive to do the best that I can do at anything. I strive to do the best I can do at my job. I strive to be the greatest employee that my bosses can have at the restaurant. I don’t like taking “no” for an answer, and always aim to turn a “no” into a “yes.”
