Quenneville's five-point night fuels Wheat Kings

and the Brandon Wheat Kings couldn’t have asked for a better start to their WHL Eastern Conference Final.

Quenneville recorded two power-play goals, three assists and was plus-3 in Friday’s 9-4 rout of the Calgary Hitmen in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series. The Devils’ 2014 first-rounder matched a career high with five points and is tied for the team points lead with 14 (6g-8a) in 12 playoff games.

The Wheat Kings went up 2-0 in the series on Saturday with a 3-2 overtime win in Game 2. The scene shifts to Calgary for Game 3 on Tuesday. 

In OHL action, Ryan Kujawinski and the North Bay Battalion earned a road split in the first two games of their Eastern Conference Final against the Oshawa Generals.

Kujawinski picked up an assist in the Battalion’s 6-1 victory in Game 1 on Friday. Oshawa took a 1-0 decision in Game 2 to even the series at 1-1. Game 3 is Tuesday at North Bay.

Kujawinski, the Devils’ third-round selection, 73rd overall, in 2013, is fifth on the Battalion with nine points (5g-4a) in 11 postseason games.
