The Brandon Wheat Kings have been pushed to the brink of elimination in the WHL Final.
The Wheat Kings dropped Game 3 in Kelowna, 5-3, on Monday and now trail three games to none in their best-of-seven series with the Kelowna Rockets.
Devils’ 2014 first-rounder John Quenneville (10g-9a) entered the matchup as Brandon’s leading scorer in the postseason, but has been held without a point in series.
Game 4 is Wednesday in Kelowna.
Kelowna opened the scoring, surrendered a power-play goal to Brandon’s Morgan Klimchuk, then regained a 2-1 lead all in a 2:12 span of the first period.
Rourke Chartier recorded two goals and an assist for the Rockets, who went ahead, 4-1, in the middle frame. The Wheat Kings notched the next two to trim the deficit to one midway through the third, but Chartier’s second of the game put the game out of reach with 6:12 remaining in regulation.
