John Quenneville and the Brandon Wheat Kings are one win away from a trip to the WHL Final.
Quenneville registered a goal and an assist in Brandon's 8-3 rout of the Calgary Hitmen in Game 4 of their WHL Eastern Conference Final on Wednesday.
Quenneville's eighth of the postseason tied the game at 1 with one minute left in the first period. He added a second-period helper for the Wheat Kings, who tallied five times in the frame.
It was Quenneville's second multi-point performance of the series for the Wheat Kings, who lead the best-of-seven three games to one. He has burned Calgary for eight points (4g-4a) in four games and has a team-high 17 points (8g-9a) in 14 postseason contests.
The Devils' 2014 first-round pick posted five points (2g-3a) in Game 1, matching a career high.
The Wheat Kings have outscored Calgary, 21-11, and can close out the Hitmen on home ice in Friday's Game 5. Should they advance, they would face the winner of the WHL's Western Conference Final between the Kelowna Rockets and Portland Winterhawks, currently knotted at two games apiece.
Wednesday's OHL Eastern Conference Final action saw Devils' prospect Ryan Kujawinski and the North Bay Battalion fall at home, 3-2, in Game 4 of their best-of-seven showdown with the Oshawa Generals. The series, even at 2-2, shifts back to Oshawa on Friday.
