Devils prospect John Quenneville on Monday was named the WHL’s Player of the Week for the period ending April 26.
Quenneville matched a career high on Friday with five points (2g-3a) in the Brandon Wheat Kings’ 9-4 win over the Calgary Hitmen in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Final. Brandon took a 2-0 lead in the series with a 3-2 overtime win on Saturday. Game 3 was set for Tuesday night in Calgary.
The Devils’ first-round pick in 2014, Quenneville posted 17 goals, 30 assists for 47 points in 57 games this season, his third with Brandon. The centerman is tied for the Wheat Kings’ lead with 14 points (6g-8a) in 12 postseason contests.
