Quarterfinals begin Thursday at worlds

The IIHF World Championship continues Thursday in Minsk with four quarterfinal matchups.

Jaromir Jagr and the Czech Republic open the playoffs against the United States at 9 a.m. ET. The game will streamed live on and televised on a 30-minute tape delay on NBCSN.

The Czechs finished third in Group A after rallying to beat France, 5-4, in overtime on Tuesday. Team USA was second in Group B.

Peter DeBoer and Team Canada face Finland at 1 p.m. ET after taking the top spot in Group A. Albany (AHL) defenseman Raman Hrabarenka and host Belarus came in third in Group B, earning a first-round matchup with defending champion Sweden.
