Devils Opening Night will start Friday afternoon with Devils Fan Fest on Championship Plaza beginning at 4 p.m. with live music, interactive games and food and drink available for purchase. Fans in attendance will also have the first chance to see Devils players, coaches and alumni arrive to the game on the Devils Red Carpet between 4:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Players will be dropped off on the corner of Mulberry St. and Edison Pl., and follow the red carpet through Championship Plaza.
The Devils pre-game show, starting at 7 p.m., will include an all-new 3D program featuring a live performance by The West Powelton Steppers Drill Team and Drum Line and the New Jersey Symphony String Quartet. The new 3D program will underscore the New Era of Devils Hockey following an offseason of dramatic changes to the team.
Prudential Center will also debut a multi-million dollar investment in enhancing the fan experience, including an extensive renovation of the arena’s Clubs, new theatre-style loge boxes, new concourse bars and expanded concession options.
“We take great pride in our commitment to creating a world-class experience for our loyal fans,” said Hugh Weber, president of Prudential Center and the New Jersey Devils. “The hundreds of enhancements we made this offseason, as well as the increased engagement with our players, are a result of an open, ongoing dialogue with our fan base, which we look forward to continuing for many years to come.”
Upgrade to Clubs and Premium Locations
Prudential Center completely renovated the former Fire and Ice Lounges, creating a first-class, inclusive experience for club ticket holders. The East and West Clubs now feature a consistent, open concept design with new table and lounge areas, and a new buffet, including a rotation of six different menus.
Prudential Center’s exclusive club, Platinum Lounge, will now offer ticket holders access to the clubs’ buffet and new specialty items, including an array of alligator, wild boar and duck sausages paired with craft mustards. The Restaurant and Bar located on Suite Level 1 will now offer a “light bites” menu.
All-new theatre-style loge boxes will offer partners a more intimate setting for client hospitality or an informal night out with family and friends. The loge boxes complete Prudential Center’s premium lineup, offering customers world-class options, from as small as two-person Platinum entertainment to 16-person suites.
All-New 3D and In-Game Entertainment
Prudential Center and the Devils invested more than a half million dollars over the summer to improve the in-game experience for fans. After last season’s premiere of the 3D projection system, the team will introduce a new pre-game program, featuring live performers and inspired by a New Era of Devils Hockey that will debut opening night on the ice.
Technological enhancements in the arena will enable the game night production team to give fans a real-time look around different areas of the arena, including behind-the-scenes access to players. Improvements to the sound and lighting system will also help create an improved multi-media experience. The Devils will introduce a new host to engage fans throughout each game.
Enhanced Culinary Choices
After last season’s launch of the first farm-to-fan culinary concept at an arena, concessions partner Legends has elevated the variety of food and beverage options for fans. World-renowned chef David Burke has extended his offerings to the main concourse with a new location, “Handwich Shop,” featuring mini-sandwiches, sides and desserts. The new “Chicken Coop,” a fan-inspired concept also located on the main concourse, will serve a number of chicken options, including chicken tenders with signature sauces. The arena’s most popular stand, The Jersey Grind, will offer the Jersey Burger, topped with grilled Taylor Ham, cheese and a fried egg.
New partner Goya Foods has been brought on board to provide an authentic Latin flavor to the arena’s menus, including the Ironbound concession stand on the upper concourse, named after the Newark district adjacent to the building, and the new Goya Street Taco stand on the main concourse. Goya will also inspire Latin options on the arena’s club and premium menus.
Fast Pass, Shorter Lines, More Options
Prudential Center has introduced an innovative food and beverage option called Concessions Pass. Fans who purchase Concessions Pass tickets will have the ability buy an entrée, side and non-alcoholic beverage every 15 minutes from any concessions stand in the building.
Two new main concourse bars, the Jack Daniels Bar outside of Section 18 and the Bud Light Bar outside of Section 9, will offer fans a variety of options and improve concession lines.
The Devils introduced Flex Membership, the first ticket platform where fans choose the games they want to see, how many seats they need and where they want to sit. Flex Membership offers fans the ultimate option for customization with the benefits of the membership program.
This summer, Devils Season Ticket and Flex Members received new Membership Cards, giving them access to a number benefits throughout the arena, including discounts on apparel. Members also will save time when entering the building with new Member Entrances located at PNC Tower, Lafayette Tower and on Lafayette Street.
Members will now have access to a new Members Lounge, located in the Restaurant, where they will be able to speak to Devils Client Experience Representatives in a more private setting.
New Little Devils Zone and Merchandise Location
The Little Devils Zone has been moved to the Celebrating New Jersey Hockey corridor, across from Section 18, and renovated to include new activities for Little Devils Members. A new Devils Den Team Store, featuring ’47 Brand lifestyle apparel, has been opened near Section 7 on the main concourse.
