The third round of the playoffs kicked off this past weekend for all three Devils prospects still in a post-season run. Ty Smith, Mitchell Hoelscher, and Jocktan Chainey have all earned points so far in Round 3 and are looking to help their teams advance to their respective League Championship games.

Ty Smith, Spokane Chiefs, WHL (2018, 1st round, #17)
Between the first and second rounds of the Chiefs playoff run, Smith earned one goal and seven assists, totaling eight points in 10 games played. With those points, Smith helped his team advance to the 2019 Western Conference Championship, which kicked off Friday, April 19 against the Vancouver Giants. After dropping the first two matchups in Vancouver, the Chiefs returned home for Game 3 Tuesday night in Spokane, which they topped the Giants with a 3-2 overtime victory. In Game 4 Wednesday night, the Chiefs were unable to tie the series, in a 4-3 overtime loss. Game 5 will take place in Vancouver Friday night for a 7:30 PM puck drop to stay alive in the series. Smith has yet to earn points in Round 3 so far.
Mitchell Hoelscher, Ottawa 67's, OHL (2018, 6th round, #172)
In the first two rounds of Ottawa's post-season run, Hoelscher earned one point per game with two goals and six assists in eight games played. The forward helped his team to the Eastern Conference Championship against the Oshawa Generals, after sweeping their opponents in the first two rounds. Round 3 kicked off on Thursday, April 18 in Ottawa and the 67's currently hold a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. In the first two games, Hoelscher netted a goal each, and in Game 3, he earned two assists, putting him at four points in the series. The 67's faced off in Oshawa Wednesday night for Game 4 and recorded their third straight sweep in their post-season run with a 2-1 overtime victory. The game marked the first matchup during the 67's 2019 playoff run that Hoelscher did not earn any points. The 67's are the Eastern Conference Champions and will advance to the final round of the 2019 OHL Playoffs against the winner of the Saginaw Spirit and Guelph Storm series, which the Spirit are currently up 3-1.
Jocktan Chainey, Halifax Mooseheads, QMJHL (2017, 7th round, #191)
Between the first and second rounds of the Mooseheads' post-season run, Chainey earned three points with two goals and one assist in 11 games played. Chainey helped his team advance to the QMJHL President Cup Semi-Final Series against the Drummondville Voltigeurs, which kicked off on Friday, April 19 in Drummondville. Halifax currently holds a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series, with Chainey recording an assist in Game 1. The Mooseheads faced off against Drummondville in Game 4 Wednesday night in Halifax, in which they advanced their series lead to 3-1 when they topped the Voltiguers 5-2. Chainey earned one assist in the matchup. Game 5 will take place in Drummondville Friday, April 26 for a 7:30 PM puck drop as the Mooseheads look to advance to the final round.
