DEVILS VS. CANADIENS

Tonight is the second of three meetings between the Devils and Canadiens in 2016-17. New Jersey fell, 5-2, against Montreal in their first match-up Dec. 8 at Bell Centre. Despite the loss Cory Schneider made a season-high 44 saves. Taylor Hall (1g-1a) and Adam Henrique (1g-1a) each had two point nights in the game. Henrique has six points (3g-3a) in his last four games against the Habs. The clubs will finish their season-series Feb. 27 at Prudential Center.

Tonight opens the club's 11th of 18 sets of back-to-back games. New Jersey is 3-4-3 in first games and is 5-2-3 in second games of back-to-backs. The Devils are 5-7-3 vs. the Atlantic Division and are 10-11-5 against Eastern Conference opponents.

New Jersey is 3-3-2 at Prudential Center and is 7-6-3 against Montreal overall since the 2011-12 season.

Michael Cammalleri played three seasons with Montreal from 2009-12…Devante Smith-Pelly played in 66 games for the Habs between 2014-16, scoring 7g-8a-15pts…New Jersey traded Stefan Matteau to acquire Smith-Pelly on Feb. 29, 2016. Matteau played in 44 games for the Devils between 2013-16, scoring 3g-2a-5pts…P.A.
