Parise, Martin join 2008 U.S. Men's Nat'l Team

by Staff Writer / New Jersey Devils – Forward Zach Parise and defenseman Paul Martin have been added to the roster for the U.S. Men's National Team, USA Hockey has announced.

Parise, who led the Devils with 65 points (32g-33a) in 2007-08, joins the U.S. Men's National Team for the third time, while Martin, who led the Devils' defensive corps with 32 points (5g-27a), will compete in his second IIHF World Championship.

With two gold medals in international competition, Parise has represented the United States on five previous occasions. He earned gold with the U.S. National Junior Team at the 2004 IIHF World Junior Championship and with the U.S. National Under-18 Team at the 2002 IIHF World Under-18 Championship. He has also competed in two IIHF Men's World Championships (2005, 2007) and the 2003 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Martin has represented the United States in international competition on four previous occasions. He skated for Team USA at the 2005 IIHF Men's World Championship, World Cup of Hockey 2004, 2004 Deutschland Cup and 2001 IIHF World Junior Championship.

The U.S. Men's National Team will compete at the 2008 IIHF World Championship in Quebec City, Quebec, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, May 2-18.
