Team Notes

• The Devils dropped the second half of back-to-back home games and now have a record of 1-4-0.

• New Jersey outshot New York, 26-24.

• The Devils were 30/64 (47%) in the faceoff circle tonight.

Player Notes

Cory Schneider (20 saves) made his third start of the preseason and went the distance for the second time.

Reid Boucher scored at 2:34 of the second period for his second goal of the preseason. He now has goals in back-to-back games. Boucher has now played in three consecutive games since returning from a concussion.

Stefan Matteau netted a power-play goal at 19:22 of the third period. Pavel Zacha recorded an assist and his first point in pre-season action. Zacha was also 5/7 (58%) in the faceoff circle tonight.

Joseph Blandisi recorded a primary assist on Matteau’s goal. He now has points in back-to-back games. Blandisi led the OHL with 52 goals last year.

Kyle Palmieri scored his first goal of the preseason tonight and recorded four penalty minutes. The Montvale, NJ-native is entering his first season with the club after being acquired at the 2015 NHL Draft.
