The Kyle Palmieri Foundation, founded by New Jersey Devils right wing, Kyle Palmieri, and his fiancé, Ashlee Casper, gives back to those who put their lives on the line to preserve American freedom. Kyle has strong ties with the military as his sister and brother-in-law are currently serving in the National Guard and U.S. Army. This close connection to the military inspired Kyle to do more to help those who sacrifice the most.
On Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, the Kyle Palmieri Foundation will host its inaugural Military Ball at Nanina's in the Park in Belleville, New Jersey. All proceeds will benefit Service Women's Action Network, National Military Family Association and Pets for Vets. For more information, please visit kylepalmierifoundation.com/our-events.
The Kyle Palmieri Foundation supports those three military nonprofits in addition to Squad 21. For the third consecutive year, Squad 21 will provide 22 tickets for military personnel and their families to attend 21 Devils home games. Each guest will receive a unique Squad 21 T-shirt and a private postgame meet and greet with Palmieri. The program kicks off for the 2018-19 Season on Military Appreciation day.
The Devils will honor the 2nd Battalion, 113th Infantry who currently have units located throughout the Garden State in Newark, Jersey City, Woodbridge and Riverdale. They will be deployed to Africa in February. During the game, the Devils will honor them and will host a goodbye event in the area next year for the units and their families.
Throughout the game the Devils will celebrate the military through various recognitions and activations:
•World War II veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor, Michael DeCiccio, will be recognized as the Prudential Hero Among Us.
•USO Show Troupe will perform on the main concourse before the game to welcome fans to the arena.
•A photo booth, presented by Prudential, will be located on the main concourse for fans to take pictures that will be printed on a postcard which fans can personalize and send to troops overseas.
•Prudential is also giving fans the opportunity to get their military themed hats customized at an embroidery station located on the concourse.
•Approximately 75 service members in uniform from Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst will take part in a special on-ice salute during the National Anthem.
•Approximately 100 veterans from The Mission Continues, a nonprofit organization that empowers veterans to build stronger communities through service, will be attending the game.
