NEWARK, N.J. - The three-time Stanley Cup champion New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center, the world-class multi-purpose arena in Newark, NJ, have reached an agreement with 15 Seconds of Fame (15SOF) that will make the Devils the first NHL team to offer fans the company's revolutionary in-arena personal video technology and social media app during the 2016-17 hockey season.
Fans who appear on Prudential Center's videoboard during Devils games, starting at Devils Opening Night on October 18 vs. the Anaheim Ducks at 7 p.m., will be able to instantly receive their personalized video clip on their mobile device and share it on various social media platforms. Users can simply download the 15SOF app using iTunes and Google Play and take a selfie to register.
The Devils were the first NHL team to pilot the technology during the 2015-16 regular season finale at The Rock in April with positive reviews from fans. The technology will also be available at select sporting events at the arena throughout the year.
"The Devils and Prudential Center are consistently on the cutting edge of technology integration with the goal of creating an amazing fan experience each night," said Daniel Cherry III, New Jersey Devils and Prudential center chief marketing and innovation officer. "We are thrilled to partner with 15SOF to be the first hockey team to give fans a new way to consume and share once-in-a-lifetime Devils moments."
"We are very excited to be bringing 15SOF to one of the most passionate fan bases in sports and to deliver moments to Devils fans that were never before attainable," said Brett Joshpe, CEO of 15SOF.
