Big shout out to the Devils’ newest assistant coach Ryane Clowe! I have massive respect for the type of player he was (mucker, grinder, loose puck finder) and am excited to see how he will help inject some of that spit and vinegar into the Devils lineup come October. Like the rest of the coaching staff, Clowe will be around the players here at development camp, but won't officially jump into the mix until training camp in September.
I hinted about it yesterday….Here's how you can win the first-ever autographed Taylor Hall New Jersey Devils jersey. Submit your guess for which number he will select. It will be announced tomorrow shortly after the start of the 3-on-3 competition by @NJDsk8guy, so make sure you're following him!
Speaking of the 3-on-3 competition…it is open to the public, but tickets are limited!
This morning the players had their physical testing and I spoke with defenseman Steve Santini about the details. I could keep it to myself, but what's the fun in that?! Press that play button!
Two seasons ago, Miles Wood played a whopping 25 games between a short prep school schedule and seven games representing USA Hockey at the 2015 World Junior Championship. This past season, he nearly doubled that total playing 37 games for Boston College, the last home game of the season for the Devils and then ten more at the World Championship in May. I spoke with him about what he's doing this summer to prepare for an 82-game season and a few other things. Watch it here…
The fellas are on the ice for the first time today in preparation for the 3-on-3 competition tomorrow. Tonight, they'll enjoy a concert at Prudential Center featuring Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas. I'll have more for you later, including some answers to the questions you sent in via Twitter!
