NEW YORK -- New Jersey Devils forward Jaromir Jagr moved past Mario Lemieux and into sole possession of 10th place in League history with his 1,034th assist Sunday against the New York Rangers in the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series at Yankee Stadium.
Jagr, 41, had the primary assist on Patrik Elias' power-play goal at 11:00 of the first period to give the Devils a 2-1 lead. He went on to add a second assist on a Travis Zajac goal later in the period.
Jagr had tied his former Pittsburgh Penguins teammate Friday with two assists in a 2-1 victory against the Washington Capitals.
Jagr has 697 goals, 1,035 assists and 1,732 points in 20 seasons. He has 16 goals, 28 assists and a Devils-leading 44 points in 53 games this season.
