Russia will take on defending champion Sweden in the day's other game.
The Czechs are aiming for their first gold at the worlds since 2010, when Jagr posted seven points (3g-4a) in nine games. Four years later, No. 68 has collected a team-high eight points (4g-4a) through eight games, including points in six straight (3g-4a).
The 42-year-old Jagr, who's playing in his ninth world championship, medaled in his last worlds appearance in 2011, collecting nine points (5g-4a) in nine games en route to bronze.
