It should come as little surprise that tonight Devils forward Jack Hughes was named as a 2022 NHL All-Star.
The 21-year-old is having a breakout season, leading the Devils in goals (22), assists (22), and points (44) in all 38 games this season.
Hughes has taken his game to another level this season, his fourth in the NHL, currently on pace for a 48-goal season with 15 goals in his last 18 games. Add to that 8 assists and Hughes has 23 points in his last 18 games played.
Earlier this year, Hughes scored his first career-hattrick on Nov. 25 against the Capitals, and he also has worn the 'A' on his jersey the entire season. Since the last of the 2021-22 NHL season, Hughes has been putting the league on notice with his incredible numbers. He's played 87 games between this and last season, he's scored 48 goals, and has 100 points and his list of accolades continues to grow.
Hughes' breakaway goal on Jan. 1 against the Hurricanes was his 150th career point in just his 203rd NHL game. He has, game-in, game-out, provided highlight real goals and assists that get fans up and out of their seats.

Hughes is one of 32 All-Stars announced this evening, selected by the NHL's Hockey Ops department. But there's also a chance to send an additional Devil player to the All-Star game and in Florida the weekend of Feb 3.

With the launch of Fan Vote, fans will be able to select the final 12 All-Stars, two skaters, and one goalie from each division to round out the 44 players headed to the weekend in Florida.
There are two ways to participate in fan voting. Between Jan. 12 and 14 any fan who tweets the name of a player and includes #NHLAllStarVote will be counted, while the voting on the Fan Vote website will close at 23:59:59 on Jan. 17.
