The Devils have dealt with many injuries this season; however, have seen some players close to returning from their respective injuries. Head coach Lindy Ruff gave updates following Friday's practice, ahead of a back-to-back this weekend.

On Pavel Zacha who hasn't played since Mar. 15 due to an upper-body injury:
"He's feeling pretty good, so we'll make a decision on him later today, but there's a chance he plays over the weekend."
On Miles Wood missing from Friday's practice and his recovery from hip surgery:
"This is just part of the process for him, it's been a long time. He'll probably be questionable for tomorrow but some of that is to be expected. He hasn't played in five months so he's got to work through coming back and getting back in the lineup so I think you're going to see days like this.
"This is to be expected. The intensity of games is really hard to match and I think what comes with that is you're going to have some aches and pains. We want to make sure we're doing the right thing with him. So we're just addressing Wood from a day-to-day basis. Probably be games where he won't play, he'll need recovery or extra time, the schedule's pretty heavy and we have to be careful with him."
On Andrew Hammond who is looking to make his Devils debut:
"He's doing well, feels well. I think he's really close to playing also. There is a possibility (he'll play this weekend)."
Additional Updates
Ruff also said that Andreas Johnsson is available and ready to go back into the lineup after missing the last two games. Janne Kuokkanen, who was removed from the IR on Mar. 31, is also available to play.
