Newark, NJ – The New Jersey Devils High School Player of the Month Program continues this season. Players named for January 2015 are: sophomore goaltender Alexei Masanko (Don Bosco Prep, Gordon Conference); junior forward Spencer Reiber (Cranford, Union County); senior forward Dakota Skove (Notre Dame, Colonial Valley Conference); senior forward Robbie Wiatrowski (Central Regional, Shore Conference); junior defenseman Brandon O’Callahan (Ramsey, Big North Conference); senior forward Will Barnett (Chatham, Morris County); and senior forward Eddie Weissman (Bridgewater-Raritan, Skyland Conference).
Each month, December through February, seven student-athletes from throughout the state are selected as recipients of the award. Public A, Public B and Non-Public All-Tournament Teams will be selected in March and an overall High School Player of the Year will be chosen at the conclusion of the season.
Winners are based on nominations received from members of the media who cover the state’s scholastic hockey. Award winners and their guests receive tickets to a Devils' game, a plaque presented by a Devils' player, and dinner compliments of the Devils.
This marks the 23rd season that the Devils are honoring high school student-athletes. For further information, please contact the Devils’ Communications Department at 973-757-6219.
