He’s only 24, but Adam Henrique’s number has already been raised to the rafters.
His No. 14 was retired Sunday by his OHL junior club, the Windsor Spitfires, in a pregame ceremony. Henrique was one of three 14’s to be honored by Windsor, joining Steve Ott, who was part of Sunday’s event, and Ed Jovanovski, who was recognized on Jan. 17.
"It was a special night,” Henrique said. "They did an awesome job setting everything up and everything went smoothly. My family was all in town for it, I had a lot of people at the game. It was a special night; it was a lot of fun."
Henrique spent four seasons in Windsor and was a major part of the club’s back-to-back Memorial Cup titles in 2009 and 2010, when he was named OHL playoff MVP.
