Hamilton jaw shield injury update

Devils blueliners Dougie Hamilton (broken jaw) and Ty Smith (upper-body) were both back at practice with the team on Wednesday for the first time since their respective injuries and will join the club for its upcoming three-game road trip to Tampa Bay, Carolina and Toronto.
Hamilton, who skated in a non-contact and wore a lower face shield around his jaw, has been out of the lineup since Jan. 2 when a shot by Washington's Justin Schultz struck him in the mouth.
Smith was placed on Injured Reserve retroactively to Jan. 19 and has missed the past three games.
"It's great to see them both out (for practice). They're both progressing," head coach Lindy Ruff said. "They'll both make the trip."
Center Michael McLeod was not at practice and will not travel with the team. He left Tuesday's contest against Dallas after engaging in a fight with the Stars' Luke Glendening during the second period. He did not return to the game.
