Greene, Ponikarovsky game-time decisions

by Eric Marin / New Jersey Devils
Defenseman Andy Greene and winger Alexei Ponikarovsky will be game-time decisions for tonight's matchup with the Rangers. The Devils host their cross-river rivals at 7 p.m.

Martin Brodeur will start for New Jersey.

Greene missed Sunday's game at Long Island due to back spasms. Ponikarovsky sustained a lower body injury in Boston on Thursday and has missed the last two contests.

"I got to the rink [Sunday], started my routine, my warmup and just locked up," Greene said this morning. "My back locked up. I couldn't really move."

Greene said he's "feeling a lot better" and will follow his regular game-day routine.

"I'm going to get some treatment here, act like I'm playing, come to the rink like I'm playing and see how it is in warmups," he said. "Then I'll make a decision after that."

Here's a look at the Devils projected lineup should Greene and Ponikarovsky be unable to play:
