The Devils goal was to have a hot start the 2017-18 season, and over the first three games, they have accomplished just that. New Jersey holds a 3-0-0 record and is currently one of only two undefeated teams remaining in the NHL. The club has been lighting up the scoreboard, tallying 16 goals in three games, which is best in the Eastern Conference. The Devils will look to continue their winning streak tonight at Prudential Center when the team hosts the Washington Capitals (2-1-1). Here's everything you need to know for tonight's Metropolitan Division showdown.

Rookie Watch
In the first week of the season, the Devils rookies have certainly made their presence felt. Jesper Bratt leads the club with six points (3g-3a) through three games. Defenseman Will Butcher is currently the team assist-leader (five) and is behind only Bratt in points totaled. Nico Hischier registered his first career assist in Buffalo, and has a +3 rating this season. The kids are definitely all right.
Remember me?
Marcus Johansson will skate against his former team for the first time tonight when the Capitals visit Prudential Center. As a member of the Capitals, Johansson registered 102g-188a in seven years in D.C. Look for the Devils forward to play with an extra edge tonight after being traded from Washington to New Jersey last summer.
