Talk about ending the year with a bang.
After defeating the Atlanta Thrashers 3-1 on Friday, the Devils closed out 2010 with an impressive fireworks display outside Prudential Center. The spectacle – the first of its kind at the Rock – was presented by The Star-Ledger.
Fans leaving the game gathered along Mulberry St., where they were well-positioned to take in the show. Nearly 400 fireworks were launched, illuminating the Newark sky as they soared and sparkled to the delight of the onlookers.
Newark Mayor Cory Booker even tweeted about the event, sending this message to his more than one million followers on Twitter: Come 2 @prucenter 4 fireworks NYE! Thanks 2 @NHLdevils all Newark invited 730pm 12/31 Mulberry St outside the Rock!
