The Devils wrap up a weekend of pre-season preparation with Group C hitting the ice for practice while Groups A and B face each other in a scrimmage. The Devils will have four pre-season games over five days starting on Monday, and head coach Lindy Ruff felt the best way to prepare was with a mix between the two activities.
Sunday's scrimmage is not streaming but there will be full coverage on NewJerseyDevils.com.
New Jersey's pre-season kicks off in Montreal against the Canadiens on Monday before the Devils host the New York Islanders on Tuesday. Thursday and Friday will be a home-and-home series between the Hudson River rivals with the New York Rangers hosting Thursday, and the Devils hosting Friday.

Group C Practice

After playing two back-to-back days of scrimmages, Group C gets a second training camp practice in the books. New Devils additions Erik Haula, Brendan Smith, and John Marino, as well as 2022 second-overall draft pick Simon Nemec are a part of Group C. Some returning Devils players also on this team are Miles Wood, Nolan Foote, Tyce Thompson, and Dawson Mercer.
Defenseman Kevin Bahl had a busy summer making sure he was coming into training camp in game ready shape. He is one of the players fighting for a potential spot on the main roster. In addition to working on his nutrition off the ice, he made sure to skate in a more competitive environment. Bahl has said he feels the improvements he's made in his off-season routine and is looking to prove a lot to the coaching staff.
"I just want to show off my physicality, my mobility, and puck moving abilities," said Bahl. "And (my) shutdown game. (I want to) bring what I can and compete for a spot.
