Exam shows Elias concussion-symptomatic

by Staff Writer / New Jersey Devils
An examination has determined that Devils forward Patrik Elias is concussion-symptomatic, President/CEO/GM Lou Lamoriello announced Tuesday. There is no timetable for his return.

The Devils’ all-time leading scorer, Elias was injured Saturday on a hit from Colorado’s Ryan Wilson. He is set to be reevaluated later this week, and will resume skating when team doctors see fit.

Elias missed the first 13 games of the year following offseason groin surgery, and returned to collect 10 goals and 16 assists in 32 games.

Dainius Zubrus, who has missed 27 games since blocking a shot at Nashville on Nov. 19, is expected to rejoin the team for Wednesday’s morning skate. The Devils will host Florida at 7 p.m.
