Doc Emrick Wins Fifth Emmy

In his 17th season with the Devils, Emrick has won his fifth Emmy award. – Another season in the Devils booth, another Emmy for Mike “Doc” Emrick.

Emrick was awarded the Emmy for On-Camera Talent: Sports Play-by-Play by the New York Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences at the 50th Annual New York Emmy Awards on Sunday.

It is the fifth local Emmy for the Fox Sports Net New York veteran broadcaster, who is in his 17th season (1983-86 & 1993-Present) as the television voice of the Devils.

Known as “Doc,” for his PhD in Radio-TV-Film from Bowling Green State University, Emrick had previously won Emmys for On-Camera Achievement in 1996, 1999, 2002 and 2004.

Emrick is in his 27th year as an NHL play-by-play announcer, and has broadcast professional hockey for 34 seasons.
