It was a sports-filled day for all at the Special Olympics New Jersey Floor Hockey Tournament at Stockton College Sports Center last Saturday.

Devils Alumni Director Bruce Driver took part in the ceremonial puck drop with Stockton College President Herman Saatkamp and helped teach athletes 8 and under the fundamentals of floor hockey. Devils giveaways were also plentiful as the hometown team came out to support the Galloway, N.J., event.

Fundraisers help the Special Olympics provide free year-round training for over 23,000 adults and children with intellectual disabilities. This year, 180 athletes split up into 14 teams to help raise money.

Tournament participants also had a chance to see the Vince Lombardi Super Bowl trophy, which is currently on its Join the Huddle tour. Prudential Center will host Super Bowl Media Day on Jan. 28 in preparation for Super Bowl XLVIII, which is set for MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2.
