Devils sign Krys Barch

Newark, NJ – The Devils have signed free-agent forward Krys Barch to a contract. The announcement was made by Devils’ President/CEO/General Manager Lou Lamoriello. As per club policy, no further terms were disclosed.

Barch will enter his first season with the Devils and seventh NHL season overall. He began the 2011-12 campaign with Dallas, before being traded to Florida December 7. The 6-1, 210-lb. forward combined for two goals and three assists for five points and 91 penalty minutes in 51 games last season.

Barch has career totals of 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points and 669 penalty minutes in 304 appearances. He joined the Stars’ organization after signing as a free agent July 18, 2006. Born March 26, 1980 in Hamilton, Ont., he has seen action with Iowa, Norfolk and Portland (AHL); as well as Greenville and Richmond (ECHL).

Barch was selected by Washington in the fourth round, 106th overall of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He played three seasons of junior hockey with London (OHL).
